PROFICIENCY AWARDS PROGRAM

PURPOSE

Explorers who have excelled in various aspects and fields shall have the opportunity to be awarded a symbol of recognition to be displayed on their uniform in the form of a lanyard. The awardees shall be given a written certificate of the commendation. A true copy of the certificate shall be put into the Explorer's file. Unless stated, recognition shall be awarded by the Program Director upon his discretion. Furthermore, propositions for commendations may be accepted from fellow Explorers, police officers, civilian employees or any other member or organisation from the community. The propositions shall be evaluated and added to the member's file. The Director shall then decide if the aforementioned member should be awarded a commendation lanyard.

SYSTEM

Each level of proficiency shall be identified by it’s own lanyard colour.  In all, there are four (4) levels of proficiency (or classes).   Proficiency shall be awarded upon satisfaction of the following criteria :

BENEFITS

For the Explorers, a system for recognizing their hard work is an essential part of the program as they often go without public recognition for their dedication and hard work.

Lanyards would be the most versatile system for recognizing proficiency, as they would be recognizable by the public, not in the way of any equipment and comfortable for the member who has to wear it.
